To understand in the planning and implementation of policies that tend to connect physical activity and sport with the promotion of health, recreation and social integration.   

To take part in the promotion of each of the sports disciplines and to regulate their forms of organization tending to achieve a massive participation in each of them.   

To coordinate with municipalities, clubs, associations, federations and other non-governmental organizations, the generation of favorable conditions for the access to the effective practice of sports, promoting the creation of centers of sports initiation and high performance, in the different Departments of the Province.   

To coordinate with the corresponding area of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, the implementation of a school sports policy.
