Aguaray Anniversary

On August 16, the people of Aguaray celebrate the anniversary of the town with different activities such as folkloric peñas, exhibitions with handicrafts such as masks, clay pots, chaguar weavings (yiscas, bandoleras, hammocks, made by the aborigines). It also highlights the Creole customs such as the yerra, marches and regional cuisine that culminate with a great folk festival.

ACAMBUCO

Valleys located an hour and a half away by road from the city of Aguaray. You enter through Paraje Virgen Fátima (jurisdiction of Aguaray) to the west. This place is magical for its green valleys and unique landscape for its nature, which invites to rest and encounter of the human being with its exuberant fauna for its Toucans, Macaws and Yaguaretés among others. In addition to its traditional gastronomy, trails, bird watching, jets, adventure, horseback riding, camping, viewpoint. A multipurpose place for the visitor who loves customs and nature.

PEÑA MORADA (TOBANTIRENDA)

A place where you can appreciate the popular expressions of art made in +s+po (liana, liana, bejuco) and täkuara (hollow cane) that give shape from their own imagination flourished from the social dimension of the Guarani people. Therefore, vegetable fiber handicrafts are a cultural and natural product that reproduces pieces such as: baskets, baskets and forms of animals, flowers and other figures associated with nature.

CAPIAZUTI STREAM AND CAMPING SITE

 This place is located 7 km from the urban center of Aguaray going by ex national route 34 to the north; also by the access to the community of Capiazuti. DIQUE Y ESPEJO DE AGUA EL LIMONCITO

Native communities

The northeast of Salta has the highest concentration of native peoples. The ethnic groups are: Wichí, Tobas, Matacos, Chorote, Tapiete, Chiriguano, Chulupies, Chané and Tuyunti, being the Matacos, Chiriguanos and Chané the most numerous.
