Animaná
It is a small town in the department of San Carlos, 207 km (3hs) from Salta and is part of the Wine Route. Animaná comes from the Cacán language and means "place of the sky". It is a town with history, legend and traditions, where old vineyards and wineries stand out, from small family wineries to those of great magnitude.

In September, the town venerates the Virgin of La Merced, where countless acts of faith are reflected in the local inhabitants.

For art lovers, it is an unmissable program to know artistic works of authors from Salta and the area, such as sculptures and paintings. It also has a library with literary copies of various kinds.

Wine Route
Animaná is the town that preserves the oldest winery in the area, more than seventy years old, which still preserves traditional forms of elaboration of the Calchaquí Valley delight. The variety of grape varieties produced in this town is very complete; you can buy Torrontés, Malbec, Cabernet Souvignon, Barbera de Asti and Tannat.

Patero wine
In Animaná you can live the experience of participating in the production of patero wine, together with the local people; one of the most common ancestral techniques in the region when it comes to making a particular wine with distinctive characteristics.

Provincial Grape Harvest Festival
It is an interesting festival of the Calchaquí Valley, which takes place during the month of February. There are tastings and sales of high quality wines, parades of allegorical floats, all culminating with a folkloric event of provincial renown and a great popular dance. It is a beautiful local event that has become very popular in the last few years.

Handicrafts
Animaná is characterized for being the center of production of basketry in simbol and poleo with a great variety of designs (baskets, closets, screens, bottle holders, plate racks), ceramics, loom and frame weavings.

Regional gastronomy
In Animaná you can enjoy the rich regional gastronomy, with exquisite authentic dishes such as empanadas, tamales and humitas made with local products. The "cabeza guateada" and the handmade wines also stand out. In addition, you can find delicious regional sweets and pastries, dried fruits and handmade wines in the town and in the places of San Antonio and Corralito.

This type of tourism allows you to experience the daily life of the people of Animaná and the area, accompanying them in their work activities and learning about the culture and traditions that are maintained from generation to generation.

Paraje San Antonio
8 km from Animaná, between hills and ravines, a river of crystalline waters and a blue sky, is located this community of farmers, dedicated to the production of dried fruits, handmade sweets, vegetables, fruits and sheep and goat breeding.  Its inhabitants keep alive the pre-Hispanic agricultural techniques, such as the cultivation of terraces, use of organic fertilizers, complementing these techniques such as direct sowing and drip irrigation that allow the best use of natural resources.

Corralito
At 9 km from Animaná, the community of Corralito is characterized for being a town dedicated to productive activity.  It has plots of land dedicated to the cultivation of bell pepper for paprika, grapes for the production of handmade wines and pastures reserved for the feeding of animals such as cattle, pigs, goats and rabbits. Also, among its inhabitants we can find ceramic artisans.
