Culture
Its varied culture is manifested in every corner of the city, with obligatory stops, such as the Güemes Monument at the foot of the Cerro San Bernardo Municipal Natural Reserve. Every September, the people of Salta overflow with faith and fidelity to their Tutelary Patron Saints: “The Lord and Virgin of the Miracle”; the largest religious celebration that Salta has, where, every September 15 since 1692, a multitude of faithful gather in the procession through the streets of the city with the images and culminates with the renewal of the “Pact of Fidelity".
The faith of the time of the Miracle is kindled with the arrival of the pilgrims who cross kilometers between mountains, rivers and various roads and trails, on foot, on horseback, on bicycles from all corners of the province and even from other destinations in the country, to reach the capital of Salta to celebrate this very important celebration. Some walk for 15 days just to offer their pilgrimage with joy to the Lord and Virgin of the Miracle in the Cathedral Basilica.
