It is located in the northeast of the province and 239 km (3 hs 17 min) from Salta city.

It is within the perimeter of the Yungas Biosphere Reserve, where you can enter through routes that still keep the wild nature intact and see numerous birds, small and large animals and an endless diversity of flowers, plants and trees.

In the Bermejo river you can go on fishing excursions of several days with specialized guides, there are surubíes and dorados of great size which, being in a protected area, are fished with obligatory return. The Patron Saint's Day is in August in honor of Santa Rosa de Lima.
