El Tala
SELVA DE MONTAÑA
It is located 310 km south of the provincial capital, which is joined by National Route 9. It is the birthplace of the internationally renowned sculptor Lola Mora.
In August 1872 by then governor of the Province of Salta, Don Delfín Leguizamon orders the delineation or layout, of villa or town in Rosario de la Frontera, El Tala and La Candelaria.
On July 16, 1873. The engineer Guillermo Rucker and the surveyor Dn. Carlos Schossig delimited for the first time the streets and blocks of our town, in the presence of the Lieutenant Colonel Dn. Sacarías de la Cerda and his brother Dn. Demetrio de la Cerda, who donated the land.
El Tala is also known as Ruiz de los Llanos because the train station was founded with this name as a tribute to Colonel Bonifacio Ruiz de los Llanos, soldier of the homeland; he was born in Salta in 1791, he started his military career in the Regiment of Patricios de Salta in 1811, he participated in the battles of Tucumán, Salta, Vilcapugio and Ayohuma under the command of General Manuel Belgrano.
At the moment the station Ruiz de los Llanos, is maintained by load activity, it is the first station in land salteña of the branch C from the south; it presents a wide beach of maneuvers and the inhabitants of El Tala hope that some time the train of passengers returns as it was a few decades ago.
