La Candelaria

222 km (2 hours) from the City of Salta, La Candelaria is surrounded by farms where agriculture and livestock predominate. It preserves the tranquility of a typical small town that is beautiful to visit and enjoy.

It has rivers such as El Tala and the La Candelaria river, which with their respective tributaries form the Salí river in the neighboring province of Tucumán.

Patronal festival

The patron saint of the town, Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria, is honored with a great cultural event that brings together numerous faithful from different nearby places and her feast is celebrated in February.

Gastronomy

As for gastronomy, it is characterized by guatia, ají del monte (Quitucho), red chorizo, cow cheese and rectangular tamales.
