Provincial capital of flowers, in the heart of the Lerma Valley, a town of Creole customs and great natural beauty.

What to visit?
The San Martin square, also known as "Plaza de las flores" has a luminous fountain completely covered in onyx. Its flowerbeds are always colorful with a great variety of plants.

La Merced Church
This is another place you can visit when you are in this town. The church, located in a beautiful green space, was donated by Lola Aranda for the inhabitants.

Patron Festivities
Salta is a cradle of faith. All our towns celebrate with great devotion the patron saint festivities in gratitude to their Patron Saints. If you visit us on September 24 you can share with us our feast in honor of the Virgen de la Merced with a massive procession and parade of gauchos in the area. A very exciting experience not to be missed.

Christ of the brotherhood
When entering the town you can enjoy this walk with an imposing image of Christ carved in wood, about 9 meters high, made on a huge eucalyptus trunk. On weekends you will find local artisans exhibiting their work in the parador.

Sumalao
You can visit this beautiful place near the town, which gathers pilgrims in one of the most important and traditional religious festivals of Salta in June. Misachicos who come to Sumalao participate in it, which together with the fondas and handicraft fairs give a special color to the day.

San Agustín
This is another of the must-see places in La Merced. You can visit the beautiful chapel where the patron saint is venerated and tour the small town that preserves the streets and mansions as if they were frozen in time.

Rural and gaucho tourism in La Merced
If you are a lover of gaucho and Creole traditions, in La Merced you can visit farms to be part of the different productive activities. You can also stay in country houses and enjoy horseback riding and hiking in the open air.

Peruvian horses
In La Merced you can visit some Peruvian Paso horse farms and enjoy the harmonious gait of the most comfortable saddle horse in the world.
