Crafts, a treasure of the town
The artisans of the area work with sheep and llama wool and, through artisanal processes that range from manual shearing to spindle spinning and weaving, they obtain beautiful products. They also work in basket weaving.
Yungas Jungle
This incredible jungle enters the country from Bolivia, and in it you can see very rich plant species, such as epiphytes and different levels of vegetation, represented by species that make up the so-called “Palo Blanco and Palo Amarillo Jungle.” Among the most notable fauna are macaws, medium and large-sized birds and mammals, toucans, wild turkeys, corzuelas, parrots, foxes, tapirs, peccaries and monkeys.
Nogalar de Los Toldos National Reserve
2 km from the town of Los Toldos is this reserve, with an approximate area of 4,000 hectares. Among the spectacular flora there are dense native walnut forests and a large amount of cedar and pine from the hill of significant diameter, impossible to find in surrounding areas. The fauna is represented by the taruca, declared a Natural Monument, the red squirrel and the most beautiful and largest feline in South America, the yaguareté.
It is possible to do trekking and bird watching, always accompanied by a park ranger, after consulting the National Park Administration office in Los Toldos.
Taruca Natural Monument
This is the name given to the northern deer or huemul, a beautiful animal that lives between 1,800 and 4,000 meters above sea level. With large eyes and striking antlers, it has a solid body and short legs capable of climbing steep slopes.
Lipeo River
This beautiful, high-flowing river runs through the region, giving freshness to the incredible landscape of the Yungas. Ideal to enjoy the air in a unique natural environment.
Lipeo hot springs
From July to September is the best time to visit the incredible waters of Cayotal, near the town of Los Toldos. Of great value and quality, it is an unmissable experience in this dreamy natural paradise.
Santa Victoria Oeste Crossing – Lipeo – Los Toldos
You can travel this circuit for 4 days along trails traveled for centuries by local residents, herding livestock and carrying out exchanges between both communities, which connect the Andean desert region with the jungle and the fertile valley of Los Toldos. The walks allow for bird watching and photographic safaris. It can also be accessed via the new Provincial Route No. 7, consolidated from March to December, for use with 4x4 vehicles or motorcycles.
Trekking and horseback riding in the towns of Lipeo and Baritú
Both towns have a dazzling landscape, where giant tree ferns, cedars and the area's fauna surprise you at every turn. The walks allow you to come into contact with the communities and share the ancestral customs of their people.
Fishing in the rivers of Los Toldos
Among them is the Lipeo, where the visitor can have the pleasure of fishing for specimens such as rainbow trout and be part of one of the daily activities of the local inhabitants.

In Los Toldos you can taste regional cuisine with exquisite authentic dishes prepared with corn-based products, Andean potatoes and, of course, the incredible rainbow trout from the area, a delight for the most demanding palates.
