Salta's nightlife is a box of surprises. It doesn't matter if we have taken long and vital walks during the day: we never fail to go out to dinner and witness some of the peñas that offer the most authentic of Salta's traditions.
In a week's vacation in "la linda", we varied the places to go to eat to get to know its different styles. We passed by restaurants with excellent grills, other more informal ones with regional specialties, and also pubs and bars where to have a drink. Music, singing and dancing always accompanied us, and with them the joy of a people who know how to be spontaneous and share it with those who visit them.
From the most famous peñas of Los Gauchos de Güemes or Balderrama, with many years of permanence, to the youngest locals, all of them have a captive audience. The most famous lyricists, poets and performers have passed through them, leaving an indelible mark with their improvisations among friends. El Cuchi Leguizamón, Manuel J. Castilla, Juan Carlos Dávalos, Los Chalchaleros, Los Fronterizos are just some of the indelible names. "Dónde iremos a parar, si se apaga Balderrama" is one of the lyrics that best expresses the essence of these boliches.
